Lamborghini’s Ad Personam programme offers virtually limitless customisation, with over 400 shades with various finishes available to owners. Since its launch in 2011, Ad Personam has become a defining feature for the brand: over 94% of all Lamborghinis include at least one personalised option, and among them, paint is the most requested element. From subtle variations to eye-catching finishes, Ad Personam allows every car to express individuality, creativity, and a deep connection with Lamborghini’s heritage.

The heart of Lamborghini customization: Ad Personam Studio

At the core of Lamborghini’s endless paint possibilities is the Ad Personam studio in Sant’Agata Bolognese. This is where the magic happens: every one of the 400+ shades, finishes, and bespoke options starts its journey here. Far from being just a showroom, the studio is a fully equipped creative space where customers and specialists collaborate to bring the most ambitious visions to life.

From walls covered with hundreds of colour swatches to samples of leathers, Alcantara®, and unique trims, the Ad Personam studio is a playground for creativity. Here, ideas are tested, refined, and visualised in real time, allowing customers to see exactly how a chosen shade or finish will interact with the car’s lines, textures, and lighting.

Images of the studio reveal the level of detail and craftsmanship behind each custom Lamborghini, showing that Ad Personam is not just about selecting a colour, it’s about shaping a car that is a personal extension of its owner.

Each color tells a story

Color in Ad Personam is not just decoration, it’s a statement. Each shade tells a story, draws inspiration from heritage, culture, or even astronomy, and allows the car to stand out while staying unmistakably Lamborghini. Beyond standard tones, the programme includes unique finishes like Diamond Coating and Crystal Effect that enhance depth and brilliance.

We'll go over the story behind some of these unique paints.

Myth and Constellations

Some colours take inspiration from history, mythology, and astronomy, giving each car a sense of narrative:

  • Nero Nemesis (not pictured) – evokes the goddess of justice, inspired by the traditional judge’s robe.
  • Arancio Apodis – named after the Bird of Paradise constellation, its main stars classified as orange giants.
  • Viola Pasifae – honouring the queen of Crete and mother of the Minotaur.
  • Blu Cepheus – referencing the northern constellation of Cepheus, husband of Cassiopeia and father of Andromeda.
  • Grigio Telesto – a Greek-inspired name representing both a Saturnian moon and a mythological figure, giving it an enigmatic appeal.

These mythological references aren’t just names—they link the car to heroic and celestial symbolism, adding depth to the visual impact.

Colors born from moments

Other shades are tied to anniversaries, events, or specific client requests:

  • Verde Scandal – its legend dates back to the late 1960s, when a customer requested a green matching her dress. Lamborghini used the dress as a reference to create the exact tone.
  • Viola 30th (pictured) – introduced in 1993 to celebrate Lamborghini’s 30th anniversary, first seen on the iconic Diablo.
  • Giallo Maggio – created for the Aventador 50° Anniversario, this yellow celebrates Lamborghini’s founding month, May 1963, with a reflective finish that sparkles under sunlight.

These colours demonstrate how Ad Personam allows owners to embed personal or historic meaning into their cars.

Honouring Lamborghini’s origins

Ad Personam also pays tribute to Lamborghini’s home region through unique leather colours, extending the personalisation experience beyond paint:

  • Giallo Quercus – inspired by the golden oak in Sant’Agata Bolognese’s coat of arms. As seen inside the Aventador LP 720-4 50th Anniversario.
  • Terra Emilia and Terra di Sant’Agata Bolognese – brown leather tones designed for interiors, celebrating the brand’s roots in Emilia-Romagna.

Exclusive finishes and artisan techniques

Some Ad Personam shades are enhanced by special techniques that go beyond traditional paint and create a truly unique effect:

  • Diamond Coating – a transparent layer with real diamond dust, producing a sparkling effect that amplifies the depth and brilliance of the base colour. Like the Nero Aldebaran Diamantato Revuelto which we've featured before, shown here.
  • Crystal Effect – a multilayer, hand-applied finish that creates dynamic colour shifts and reflections, constantly highlighting the car’s lines.

With Ad Personam, Lamborghini owners have access to hundreds of shades, textures, and techniques, making every car a true one-off masterpiece. Paint is more than cosmetic—it’s one of the most requested and defining elements of the programme, allowing owners to translate personality, history, and creativity into a tangible, road-ready work of art.
