Night Blue (Audi)

Night Blue, also known as Night Blue Pearl Effect, is one of Audi’s deeper metallic blues. A near-black that shows dark navy tones depending on the light. Offered across various Audi models throughout the 2000s and early 2010s as a more unique alternative to black but remaining quite subtle and classy.

The “pearl effect” designation refers to Audi’s multi-layer paint process, where fine mica and metallic particles are suspended within the clear coat. In low light, Night Blue can appear almost ink-like, emphasizing body lines. Under direct sunlight, however, the pearl content reveals a cooler blue tone with a faint violet undertone, adding depth without becoming flashy.

While it was originally available as a standard paint option it's now an Audi Exclusive finish, and thereby has become far less common on newer generations.

With the 2023 PTS updates Porsche has also picked up this color as part of a long list of Audi colors being made available on the Cayenne.
