BMW M3 Coupé E92

Codename E92
Body type Coupe
Production 2007 - July 2013

The BMW M3 E92 is the coupe variant of the fourth-generation M3, produced from 2007 to 2013 as part of the E90/E91/E92/E93 3 Series generation. Developed by BMW M GmbH, the E92 M3 is powered by the 4.0-liter naturally aspirated S65 V8, producing 420 PS (414 hp) and 400 Nm of torque in standard form, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT dual-clutch transmission.

0–100 km/h (0–62 mph) comes in 4.8 seconds with the DCT, slightly slower than later M3 models due to its naturally aspirated V8. The E92 M3 features a rear-wheel-drive layout, M-tuned suspension, limited-slip differential, and extensive use of lightweight materials, including an optional carbon fiber roof, helping to lower the center of gravity and improve handling.

The E92 M3 coupe was praised for its high-revving V8 engine, precise chassis, and distinctive exhaust note, representing the last M3 coupe with a naturally aspirated V8 before BMW switched to turbocharged six-cylinder engines with the F80 M3. It remains a highly regarded model among enthusiasts for its balance of performance, driver engagement, and classic M3 character.

40,092 coupés were made in total.
