Viola Metallic is a Porsche paint that first featured on the 911 in '99 and later the Boxster in 2000.

It's a dark purple metallic that has a big shift in its appearance, going from almost black in low light conditions to a vibrant purple in direct sunlight.

Here's how Porsche describes the paint:

Violametallic is a bold, dark purple with a captivating metallic sheen. In Latin, 'Viola' means violet, a genus of plants that produces dark and rich purple petals.
Violametallic is a historic Porsche colour that was first offered in 1993. The colour was available for the 911 models of the 964, 993 and 996 generations under the colour codes 3AE and 39G as well as under the name of 'Violapearl'. At the end of the 1990s it became available on the Boxster (986).
Violametallic is a medium to dark shade that can also be described as classy and elegant. The metallic effect creates a dynamic paint surface, creating a unique jewel-like appearance. In low light conditions the colour looks almost black.
