Prussian Blue Metallic
preußischblau
Porsche Prussian Blue is a deep, elegant metallic blue first introduced in the mid 1980s, appearing on models like the 911 (964), 928 S4, and 944 Turbo. Known in German as Preußischblau, it’s a rich navy tone with subtle metallic highlights changing the tone under light.
The color draws inspiration from the historic Prussian Blue pigment, a deep blue dye that played a key role in art and design for centuries. It was famously used by Vincent van Gogh, featured prominently in Japanese woodblock prints, and became the traditional hue of architectural blueprints. Porsche’s metallic interpretation brings a modern, luxurious dimension to this classic pigment.
Though no longer available as standard color option, Prussian Blue Metallic more recently reappeared through Porsche’s Paint to Sample Plus (PTS+) program, giving owners the ability to pick almost every color imaginable.
