Production 2025 -

The Ford Mustang GTD (Grand Touring Daytona) is a limited-production, track-focused version of the seventh-generation (S650) Mustang, developed by Ford in collaboration with Multimatic Motorsports. It follows a similar production philosophy to the second-generation Ford GT, with Multimatic responsible for much of the engineering and assembly.

Each Mustang GTD features a serialized plaque on the dashboard identifying the car’s individual chassis number, underlining its low-volume and special-status production.

Visually, the GTD is distinguished from other Mustangs by its extensive carbon fibre bodywork, including widened panels, aggressive aerodynamic elements, and a large fixed rear wing. Carbon fibre is also used for components such as the driveshaft, contributing both to weight reduction and to the car’s distinctive appearance. These materials create large, exposed surfaces and sharp contrasts that significantly influence how exterior colors are perceived.

The GTD is powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 producing over 800 horsepower, and is equipped with carbon ceramic brakes. Ford has stated that the car is capable of achieving a sub-7-minute lap time at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, positioning it among the most track-focused roadgoing Mustangs ever produced.

As of January 2026, the Mustang GTD exists in three variants, reflecting the ongoing development and expansion of the model line.

  • Carbon Series
  • Liquid Carbon
  • Spirit of America
