Ford Mustang S650

The seventh-generation Ford Mustang (S650) was introduced in 2022 and entered production for the 2024 model year. It replaces the S550 generation while continuing to use an evolution of the same platform, rather than an all-new architecture.

The S650 retains the Mustang’s two-door coupé and convertible body styles, with updated exterior design featuring sharper body lines, redesigned lighting, and a more angular front and rear treatment. These changes result in larger, flatter body panels compared to earlier generations, which affects how colours appear across the bonnet, doors, and rear quarters.

Ford offers the S650 Mustang in a mix of traditional colours and new-generation finishes, including heritage-inspired shades, modern metallics, and limited-run special colours. Several new paints were introduced alongside this generation, making it particularly relevant for documenting contemporary factory colours and how they evolve across model years.

The seventh-generation Mustang continues to be produced in Flat Rock, Michigan, and represents the current production version of Ford’s long-running pony car.
