The BMW G05 X5 is the fourth generation of BMW's flagship Sports Activity Vehicle, introduced as the successor to the F15 X5. It was unveiled online on 6 June 2018 before making its public debut later that year, with production starting in 2018.
Built on BMW Group's CLAR (Cluster Architecture) platform, the G05 introduced a more advanced technical foundation shared with other modern BMW models. Compared to its predecessor, it featured a larger body, increased interior space, improved driving dynamics, and a wider range of technology and assistance systems.
The fourth-generation X5 continued BMW's approach of combining SUV practicality with sports-car-inspired handling, offering a broad range of petrol, diesel, plug-in hybrid, and high-performance variants including the X5 M.
The G05 X5 was also notable for its extensive paint selection, including both standard BMW finishes and a wide range of BMW Individual options which proved to be particularly popular.
