BMW i3 NA0

The i3 is BMW’s new fully electric sedan, developed as part of the Neue Klasse generation and following the introduction of the iX3 in 2025. It replaces the previous i3 nameplate with a completely new concept, moving from the original compact hatchback to a larger four-door model built around BMW’s dedicated next-generation EV architecture. Production begins in 2026 at BMW’s Munich plant.

• Drivetrain: The i3 will be offered with BMW’s latest sixth-generation eDrive technology, with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants planned for the range.
• Battery & Range: The Neue Klasse platform introduces BMW’s new cylindrical battery technology, offering significant improvements in energy density, charging speed and range compared with the previous generation of BMW EVs.
• Technology & Design: The i3 adopts the Neue Klasse design language introduced by the iX3, with a clean, aerodynamic body, vertically oriented kidney grilles and a distinctive new lighting signature.
• Interior Innovation: The cabin introduces BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive system, including the full-width Panoramic Vision display, a central touchscreen and an optional 3D Head-Up Display.

Paint options:

The i3 follows the Neue Klasse color strategy introduced with the iX3, combining familiar BMW finishes with newer colors developed specifically for the generation. The palette includes shades such as Space Silver metallic, Polarized Grey metallic, Eucalyptus Green metallic and Ocean Wave Blue metallic, alongside traditional BMW colors.

As with the iX3, BMW is expected to expand the palette with additional BMW Individual finishes after the initial launch, including special-order colors made possible by the Munich plant’s ability to handle a wider range of paint specifications.
