Sapphire Black

While Sapphire Black is found on the standard range of most modern BMWs this was not the case for the E39 M5, which had Black II and Carbon Black Metallic as the two standard black paints. At that time only some vehicles like the CSL variant of the E46 M3 offered Sapphire Black as a standard paint option although back then it was still named Black Sapphire.
This means that the black paint on this E39 M5 is actually an Individual option despite being quite common nowadays.
