Estoril Blue was introduced on the previous generation, E36 M3. On the E46 M3 it didn't feature on the standard paint range but was available as an Individual paint option, which was an extra cost of $ 2,000 at the time.
It's a relatively rare color for the E46 M3 with 'only' 1116 having left the factory in this shade of blue out of the 84.383 that were made. Out of these only 224 were LHD and only 81 of those came to the North American market.
These numbers are for the Coupe and Convertible combined.
