Zanzibar Red

Zanzibar Red is a distinctive Porsche color that first appeared on the 996-generation in the late 1990s where it was introduced as one of the launch and communication colors for the 996 GT3.

Despite being named red, the shade itself is a deep metallic orange with a subtle copper and red undertone. In overcast conditions, the color shifts toward a richer, more burnt-orange tone, while in bright conditions, it displays a vivid, fiery presence.

Despite its striking appearance, Zanzibar Red remained a niche choice and was never a high-volume seller, which has contributed to its rarity and desirability today. It is most commonly seen on early 996 models but was also available via Paint to Sample (PTS) for later generations, including rare modern examples on 991 and 992 models.
