Williams Green is an exceptionally deep dark green paint that first appeared on one of the earliest Bugatti Bolide customer cars, notably the example commissioned by FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

At first glance, Williams Green appears almost grey or charcoal in low light, but with illumination, its dark metallic green undertone becomes visible, revealing a subtle yet commanding depth.

The name “Williams Green” likely pays tribute to William Charles Frederick Grover-Williams, the English-French racing driver who secured Bugatti’s historic victory at the inaugural Monaco Grand Prix in 1929. Known simply as “W. Williams,” Grover-Williams was one of Ettore Bugatti’s early works drivers and a close associate of Louis Chiron. Beyond his racing achievements, he later served heroically in the French Resistance during World War II before being captured and executed in 1945.
