Signal Yellow is a historic Porsche color that originated in 1966. It was initially offered on the 911 and 912 models and has appeared under at least six different paint codes over time. Like other Porsche signal colors, it was inspired by traffic and safety markings. True to its name, “Signal Yellow” reflects its roots in visual clarity and alertness.

The color returned in 2009, when Japanese racing driver Tetsu Ikuzawa commissioned a restoration of his original 1969 Signal Yellow 911 Targa and ordered a matching 997 Targa 4S in the same color through Porsche's Paint to Sample program.

Signal Yellow stands out for its slight red undertone, making it richer and warmer than many typical yellows. It symbolizes optimism, energy, and creativity, and can been associated with motorsport, where yellow flags signal caution and awareness.

Still available today through Paint to Sample, Signal Yellow remains a bold and nostalgic option for those looking to blend classic Porsche heritage with modern design.
