In the 2007 season of Formula 1, Ferrari changed the color of their cars at the Monaco Grand Prix. They went from title sponsor Marlborro's light red to a darker metallic red. This color was then kept for the remainder of the season. Aside from the color being uniquely used on the F2007 F1 cars of Kimi Räikkönen and Felipe Massa, this was also Ferrari's last drivers championship winning car with Räikkönen's title in 2007.
The special triple layer paint later appeared on Ferrari's road-going cars with it being made available through the brands Tailor Made programme.
This is not the only paint that found its way from the F1 cars onto the production cars. In 2022 the matte red Rosso Ferrari F1-75 was made available for the complete model range.
