Ocean Blue Metallic

Ocean Blue Metallic is a historic Porsche color debuted in 1996 as one of the original nine metallic paint options available for the Porsche Boxster (986) at its launch. Then known by the color code 3AY, it was later offered on select Porsche 911 models, including the 993 (1997–1998) and the 996 (1999–2000) generations.

This deep blue paint was inspired by the rich tones of the ocean on a clear day. Compared to other dark metallic blue paints, Ocean Blue Metallic stands out for its subtle green undertones, giving it a unique, elegant character under different lighting conditions.

Although it is now available as a Paint to Sample (PTS) option through Porsche's customization program, it remains a relatively rare choice among modern builds.
