Muriwai White

Muriwai White is a heritage-inspired paint finish developed by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) in 2017, first introduced on the McLaren 570S Spider. The color takes its name from Muriwai, a coastal town in New Zealand where Bruce McLaren won his first motor race at the age of 15, and later also the name of the McLaren family home in Surrey, painted in a similar bluish-white hue.

Created in collaboration with Amanda McLaren, Bruce’s daughter, Muriwai White is a white paint accented with subtle blue flecks, designed to recall the whitewashed walls and blue doors of the McLaren family house. What began as a bespoke commission became an official MSO “à la carte” option, offered across the Sports Series range and later available for other McLaren road cars.

More than just a color, Muriwai White embodies McLaren’s deep connection to its founder’s history, blending personal legacy with the brand’s modern design and engineering.
