Motegi Red

Motegi Red is a BMW color introduced with the 2021 facelift of the F90-generation M5, and also offered on the F9X M8. It originally appeared in 2020 as a matte BMW Individual finish called Frozen Motegi Red, before being released in its standard gloss metallic version.

Named after Japan's Motegi race circuit, the color is quite interesting. Despite being named a red paint, it appears mostly orange in direct sunlight but shifts to a deeper, vivid red in shaded or low-light conditions.

Motegi Red was available for a limited time and has since been discontinued following the end of production for the F90 M5 and M8 models.
