Lava Grey

Lava Grey is a dark pearl effect / metallic grey that was offered across a wide range of Audi models mainly throughout the 2010s. Combining the understated look of a traditional grey with the depth of a metallic finish, it became a popular choice for buyers looking for a subtle yet sporty appearance.

The color sits between a charcoal grey and a soft black, giving it a slightly darker character than lighter greys such as Daytona Grey while remaining noticeably brighter than a true black. It has subtle brown and purple undertones and in direct sunlight, the fine but very noticeable bright metallic flake adds depth and definition, helping to accentuate the body lines without dramatically changing the overall tone.

Although Lava Grey Metallic has since disappeared from Audi's regular paint palette, it remains available through the Audi exclusive program for customers seeking a more bespoke specification.

The color also found its way into BMW's Individual catalogue, where it was offered under the same name. It's no longer available today.
