Kingfisher Blue
Kingfisher Blue is a vibrant, high-gloss blue introduced as part of McLaren’s bespoke MSO color palette first seen on the P1 and 650S, both one-offs in this color.
It's a deep, oceanic blue with a noticeable metallic sparkle, offering a dynamic visual effect. The name comes from the Kingfisher bird (Eurasian kingfisher, river kingfisher and forest kingfisher) which has a blue stripe along its back which is similar in color. The bright blue color seen on the bird is not a pigment but comes from the structure of the feathers, which causes scattering of blue light (the Tyndall effect).
