Grabber Blue
Grabber Blue is one of Ford’s most recognizable and historically important performance colors. It was first introduced in 1969, most notably on the Mustang Shelby models, as part of Ford’s push toward bold, high-impact colors that reflected the era’s motorsport and youth culture.
The color itself is a bright, saturated non-metallic blue with a slightly cyan tone, designed to stand out instantly. During the late 1960s and early 1970s, Grabber Blue became closely associated with Ford’s “Total Performance” image and was also applied across other Ford pony and muscle cars of the period.
After fading from the palette for several decades, Grabber Blue was reintroduced in 2010 on the modern Mustang, where it quickly became one of the most popular heritage colors. Its return reinforced the link between modern Mustangs and their classic predecessors, and today Grabber Blue remains a defining Ford color that bridges multiple generations of performance models.
