Dark Sea Blue, also known by its German name Meerblau, is a historic Porsche paint color first introduced on the 911 Carrera in the 1980s. It was later offered on other models such as the 924S, 928, and 944. The color made a return in 2003 on the Porsche Cayenne, where it remained available until 2006. Nowadays it's available as a relatively popular PTS option.
As the name suggests, this solid, non-metallic shade is inspired by the color of the ocean at great depths. In low-light conditions, it appears almost black, while its deep blue tone becomes more prominent in brighter lighting.
Dark Sea Blue should not be confused with Deep Sea Blue Metallic, which features a metallic finish and a different visual character.
