Dakar Yellow II is available since 1996. BMW slightly modified the Dakar Yellow (I) paint mixture making it slightly darker and more resistant to fading.
It was originally launched with the E36 M3 as M specific paint and was taken out of the brands standard offering when production ended, since then only being available through Individual for certain models.
