Azurite Black

Azurite Black is a modern BMW color introduced around 2005 as a standard range paint option on E Series cars like the M5 and M3. Nowadays it's exclusively available as an Individual paint.

It's named after the Azurite mineral which has a similar black / dark blue appearance.

Azurite has similar characteristics as another BMW color Carbon Black, it looks black in overcast conditions and only shows its dark blue metallic under direct sunlight.
Compared to Carbon Black, Azurite has a much darker and deeper tone of blue, thereby looking even more black. Carbon Black on the other hand has more hints of purple in the metallic flake.
