Aurora Diamond Green first featured on the concept car for the M8 Gran Coupe. The concept car visited various autoshows and because of how well it was received BMW launched the car with an M8 Gran Coupe 'First Edition' limited to 400 units in 2019.
The paint is inspired by the Northern Lights and mimics those colors.
Since featuring on the M8 the color was also made available for other models through BMW Individual.
This paint was later discontinued and replaced by Aurora Diamond Green II late 2025.
