After a very long production cycle of 14 years for the first generation XC90, Volvo finally unveiled a second generation in 2012 which would enter production 2,5 years later.
It marked a shift for Volvo under Geely ownership and debuted on the new SPA platform and brought a minimalist interior with a large touchscreen infotainment system, high-quality materials, and Volvo’s signature focus on safety.
Since its introduction this generation XC90 has received two facelifts once in 2019 and more recently in 2024 which brought it more in line with the new EX90 by adding the new front fascia, bigger infotainment screen and various other improvements.
This latest facelift also introduced a new color Mulberry Red to the standard paint range.
