On May 4 of 2022, BMW announced that the M4 CSL would debut at the 2022 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. Changes include significant weight reduction of around 200 lb (91 kg), a large front carbon fiber front splitter, a ducktail rear spoiler and more horsepower. Only 1,000 units will be made.
The launch color, Frozen Brooklyn Grey came as standard but owners could also opt for Alpine White or Sapphire Black.
