McLaren Elva

Body type Convertible
Production 2020 - 2022

The McLaren Elva is a limited-production, open-cockpit roadster created as part of McLaren’s Ultimate Series, inspired by the lightweight McLaren-Elva race cars of the 1960s. Designed for an unfiltered driving experience, it features no roof or windshield in its purest form, using advanced aerodynamics and McLaren’s Active Air Management System (AAMS) to direct airflow over the cabin.

Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 producing 815 hp, enabling 0–100 km/h in under 3 seconds. McLaren initially announced 399 units, later reducing the number to 249, and finally to 149 examples, due to limited demand and the global impact of COVID-19.

During the production run, McLaren introduced an optional windscreen variant to meet customer preferences, though only a small fraction of total cars were built with it. Each Elva was hand-assembled and could be extensively personalized through McLaren Special Operations (MSO), with many examples featuring bespoke one-off liveries and unique color schemes.
