Unveiled at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce marked the finale of Lamborghini’s flagship V12 before the Aventador era began. The SuperVeloce (meaning “Super Fast”) was conceived as a lighter, sharper, and more extreme evolution of the Murciélago LP 640.

Power came from a 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, uprated to 670 PS (661 hp) and 660 Nm of torque. Combined with a permanent all-wheel-drive system and a weight reduction of around 100 kg thanks to extensive carbon-fibre use, the SV could sprint from 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 341 km/h in low-downforce configuration.

Visually, the LP 670-4 SV is unmistakable: featuring an aggressive front splitter, a revised rear diffuser, and the choice between two rear wings: the smaller “Low Downforce” unit for maximum speed or the towering “Aeropack Wing” for enhanced stability. The interior was stripped to essentials, with Alcantara-trimmed carbon bucket seats and bare carbon panels, reinforcing its race-bred character.

Production was originally planned for 350 units, but was cut short to make way for the Aventador’s development and launch, further cementing its rarity. Reportedly around 260 examples were eventually made.
